Indeed JOHN, the cancer of festering negative, destructive thoughts are hard to control or to eradicate! - A great dramatic work of art depicting a dark, frozen state of mind ! -

John Alexander replied:

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts my friend.

Outstanding representation of addiction and the very dark path. Only one who has been there can create the loss, the pain, the death that results. A Masterpiece John! F/L.

Very emotional work John - both the image and text

John Alexander replied:

Thank you Issie. This concept has been in the back of my mind for some time. Some of the images I create spend years in my mind before I am able to visually present them. I really appreciate your kind words, thank you.

Artist's Description

Cancerous Retrospection. Once upon a time, I was a self-destructive alcoholic. After years of following dark paths, I was able to find my way back to the light. Sadly, not everyone finds their way back to the light. This image is a representation of a lost soul who could not escape his past. For years this lost soul would periodically reach out to me to reminisce about "the good old days" and how he wished we could go back to them. He spent his precious days on this earth pining for a past that could never be returned. When I found my way back from the darkness, he could not follow me... trapped in Cancerous Retrospection, he was ultimately lost. He died a young man and is dearly missed.
