Once there were giants who walked among us. They were not giants by stature, rather by the great wisdom they each possessed. Their wisdom was a beacon which guided the people of this world. In time, these giants began to dwindle in numbers. As they passed away from this world, so too did their light. In sorrow, the giants who remained watched the world grow darker... and the people of this world began to wander like children lost in the darkness.
As time passed, the giants became fewer and fewer, for there were none to replace them. In the darkness, the people cast about for something to cling to. It was then that the deceivers fell upon the people of this world, and wisdom was all but forgotten. Unable to see the true nature of these deceivers, the people of this world blindly followed them. Promises of a better future were contradicted by a world becoming increasingly desolate... devoid of love, light, or happiness. The light of wisdom was all but extinguished. Greed, selfis...

Wow John! The impact of the way your depict life and the possibilities are a bit scary because there's truth in it. Thank you for your creativity and brilliance!

Another epic work of art John, so well done, I really enjoy the write up in the description too. (As I get older these last few years I seek to hear the the giants again and again) FAV+

Bro, it literally sickened me to know this raving lunatic was elected president. However, like you I could not support either candidate. I realize our government has become dysfunctional but Trump? Really? A vulgar and obscene self serving pig who is an extreme bigot. He is the epitome of your description. Did we not learn anything from history and the rise of Adolph Hitler? Even Hartmut from the "land down under" has been impacted by our election. It`s truly sad, so damn sad.
John Alexander replied:
What truly saddens me is the simple fact that there are so very many people in this country that harbor such hatred within themselves... enough of them to elect an openly hateful, bigoted racist as their leader. It is a wakeup call for those such as myself, who had hoped that as a people, we had somehow progressed beyond the ignorance of the past.
Hartmut Jager
Indeed John, it is a very bitter pill - and beyond incredible - that a lewd and crude person like Trump even seeks the Presidency - Let Alone WIN ! But that is what happens - when things get way out of balance. It is when fear and anxieties takes hold of people's minds, that demagogues rise and exploit an unsettled world.
Hartmut Jager
Another great work of vision and mystery. Your description and the title of ' Seeking the Dying Light of Wisdom' may be especially significant in the light, or darkness, of the extraordinary American Election result that has suddenly fallen upon us.
John Alexander replied:
Thank you for the insightful and kind words my friend. What has befallen us here in the U.S. is in fact the ultimate personification of this images true meaning. I know that there are many people who are happy with the results of this election, but I for one am saddened beyond measure. Not because I supported the other candidate (I did not support either if the truth be known), but because what this one stands for is everything that I have raised my children to abhor. For those who look beyond the simplistic thinking of 'Democrats vs. Republican' and honestly evaluate what it means to our children, and the world at large to have an openly racist bigot as the leader of our country... this is a bitter pill to swallow.
Sorin Apostolescu
Excellent composition and work !
John Alexander replied:
Thank you so much Sorin. I am a huge fan of your remarkable imagery. As such, a compliment from a fellow artist... one that I have so much respect for... it really means a lot to me. Thank you!
Daniel Gomez

This is so extraordinary which is a word which would apply to every one of your pictures John. You must spend an age planning the ideas, or maybe they appear in your dreams ready made! I'm fascinated by the story that goes with this. I love the pinky mauve mistiness and how it is all charged with meaning. As everything goes in cycles I'm left hoping there will be a new beginning. Your art always raises questions and I've probably said that before too! Just wonderful.Sometimes I don't have the words needed to describe what I feel!
John Alexander replied:
It is always such a wonderful surprise when you stop by for a visit Jane, I so truly love your thoughts. Thank you for dropping by and sharing them with me. I hope that you are doing well dear Jane.
