Description
Some mistakes remain permanent. Bridges burn and eventually are swept away by The River of Time. To revisit them later in life often proves to be futile... what is to be found on the other side is not that which was there in the past.
This image is re-mastered. I was never really happy with the previous version.

Oh my powerful and the raw, real truth. The image....there it is we can never go back and even if we could it would never be the same. You have a perfect image of this. L/F naturally!

This powerful works speaks volumes. I know this feeling and have been there before (being human). What a view to state this fact John. Great work my friend and symbolism. F/L.

Grabbed me right off. Love the concept, the presentation...just great John. Hope your world is good. F/L
John Alexander replied:
My world is good my friend. I am so very busy with school that I have no time to take care of my creative self... at least not right now. Thank you for the kind words Randy. It is always a pleasure to hear from you.

John, all trivialities and surface shallowness takes a back seat when I view your wonderful pictures. And I don't necessarily at first glance even understand what I'm seeing. That was the case with this marvelous work . I just fell for the feeling of the man and quietly lovely landscape in subdued sepia tones as he watches the figures walk away. I "felt "how he is being somehow temporarily "cut off". In my own life I have noticed things repeating like in a spiral. Lessons showing up again and again in new forms until I finally take from them what is useful and abandon what is not helpful. I never see a "permanent" mistake that cannot be rectified even if it takes aeons. So your description is fascinating to me as I never hold my opinions very tightly ! I am constantly fascinated by new ways of seeing and thinking. Blessings to you always for sharing such awesome and philosophical art. L/F
John Alexander replied:
Jane, I am always left with a feeling of fulfillment when you share your thoughts. You look deeply into what you are seeing, and share your very own perceptions of what you see and how it pertains to you personally. This is what art does for me as well. Every interpretation is right. What an image means to me may not even come close to what it means to the next person who views it. At the end of the day, I only want to express an emotion. I truly thank you for your thoughts Jane. They fuel my desire to continue creating. As artists, we need to support each other, for it is we who truly understand each other. Huge hugs from the other side of the pond!

John, my wife and I are dealing with her mother who seems to have slipped into the past, she dwells on what could have been. The woman is simply self destructing. Her bridge has burned long ago. Your posting screams of truth bro...pick up your gold on the way out. l.v.f. awesome
John Alexander replied:
So sorry to hear about that Dave... it is never easy to see somebody you care about spin their wheels in a self destructive rut. Damn. On a lighter note, thank you for dropping by for a look around man... it is ALWAYS great to hear from you my friend. And as usual, I truly appreciate the gold!

oh yes, this one hits home..I accidentally burnt a bridge a few years ago, I didn't see the value in it. Now it is long gone and sorely missed...yes, it is futile to return to it, as your description says, because it will never be... Love this piece, a lot of emotions that I think just about everyone can relate to!! l/f
John Alexander replied:
So happy that you like this one Georgia. Thank you for sharing your thoughts... I truly appreciate it.

Ahh yes John, this particular work puts me square in the middle of memory lane...now that I`m older I feel I have made peace with the past. Your description is spot on brother and personally, I say leave the past alone..it won`t do a bit of good to dwell on it and no one can change it...this work is a total ass kicker man..you earn the gold....l.v.f
John Alexander replied:
I was thinking of people I have met who simply cannot let the past alone. There is a lesson here... trying to revisit what once was in the distant past will not fix what you have messed up in the present. As always, your thoughts are worth more than the gold you so generously lavish upon me my friend! Of course... I will gladly accept the gold alongside your wonderful insights. Thank you man.
