My name is John Alexander. I have been creating and sharing my works online for many years under the name 'SirJohn'. I find inspiration in the world around me, in human behavior... and the dark recesses of the mind. The world is filled with people painting landscapes and flowers... I am not one of them. -John Alexander (visit me on my home page: http://www.sirjohnsworld.com) Also, for those who may be interested in having my artwork on hand in the form of an absolutely gorgeous book, see the links below for more information! John how masterfully you portrait the feeling of futility, even despair, so many feel when they look at the world or their own life. Great Art !

Oh how I love this one John! I'm relieved here not to have to scramble my brain for words because HERE is how I so often feel. It's so perfectly expressed! There he is with his suitcase, all dressed up, ready to go, eager, a seeker, willing to leave no stone unturned, but then the journey seems to peter out! Aha, that's been my experience time and time again, but then it always DOES move on and always I wonder why I doubted! I want to write loads more but know I must stop! I just can't tell you how I love the sepia toned spaciousness of this as he looks to take his next step and sees only a huge drop into nowhere! You must have experienced this too my dear friend! Fabulous work! L/F
John Alexander replied:
Ah Jane, how well you have described the place where I am! This image is a reflection of where I am in my journey at the moment. Having spent 21 years doing heavy labor in a meat packing factory, I am forced to change careers after the plant closed. Despite an education, people are hesitant to hire somebody with no previous experience in the field I am seeking to break into. There is hope though... I know full and well that things are going to work out the way that I want them to. This image illustrates the frustration and feeling of futility that is simply a part of this process. As always, I love your thoughts and am deeply appreciative when you share them. Thank you so very much dear Jane.
