Wonderful artwork mirroring life with images of either love side by side with despair. LF

John, the mood and atmosphere you create in your works is filled with emotion and sensitivity. Your daughter must be so proud of this work. It is a treasure. Good hearing from you my friend. Glad you have returned to FAA. Randy. F/L+Pin

Suddenly could not resist this endearing and gentle painting John ! Sometimes my mind cannot process too much intensity of thought. It has to simply slow down and just be. I love the affinity so beautifully displayed between father and daughter, perfectly accentuated by beautiful light and color. Sweet work John ! Love! L/F
John Alexander replied:
Thank you so much Jane. The funny thing about this image is that I have not one, but TWO wonderfully amazing daughters. However, one of them is full grown, while the other is still quite young. I raised the elder of the two by myself, and this scene is reminiscent of our time together. It is also a testament to the time that I have with my younger daughter. In both instances, I have walked hand in hand with my little girl... one at a time. Thank you for looking my dear.

Sorry to be redundant, but the other comments nailed it...this is in stark contrast to the mood of your other powerful work! The works I have seem reflect what, sadly, seems to be the state of the world. The softness of the color and gestures in this one beautifully shows the love that exists between a father and his child...
John Alexander replied:
Joyce, your words humble me. I am such a huge fan of your work... your vision has such meaning and power. For you to give me a compliment is very special to me. Thank you for looking my friend.

I fear we may be kindred spirits. Much of your work has a foreboding aura about it; yet, in this piece, there is a gentle statement of protection. I suspect you either have experienced or observed the darker side of life. Good that you manage it with intelligence.
John Alexander replied:
Thank you very much for the insightful comments my friend. I truly appreciate the kind support.

The artwork is beautifully done, John, but what strikes me is the way you captured true feeling and emotion. This is a painting of love. A favorite!
John Alexander replied:
Thank you Connie. I truly am happy that you like it. It really is an important one to me.

This piece so reminds me of my Son and his Daughter. A father knowing the shadows in life, and the storms ahead, will always guide them through. Very powerful. Your shadow play brings so much power to this piece.
John Alexander replied:
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts Sydne. When viewing this for the first time, my wife says to me "She brings color to your life...". She was so very correct in her observation. Even when life has storms brewing around me... and life will do that from time to time... there is always the brightness and joy found in parenting. Thank you for looking.

Love this, very beautiful work, wonderful concept!
John Alexander replied:
I am happy that you like it Danielle. It may be a bit of a departure from my usually dark and surreal work, but it is every bit as important to me. Thanks for looking!
